Vanessa Freytag has served as president/CEO of 4C for Children since August 2015.
She served as the executive director of the Women’s Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation before coming to 4C. Through her work at the GCF, she became well-known in the Cincinnati area as an advocate for working women, especially focusing on raising women and their families out of poverty.
Prior to her tenure at the Women’s Fund, she published Women’s Business Cincinnati, a newspaper serving the Tristate, and owned W-Insight, a firm specializing in marketing to women.
Vanessa has also held positions in the corporate business world, working at Bank One, Key Bank and Bank of Boston. In her role as senior vice president and director of Women’s Market Initiative at Bank One she created and led one of the first national efforts to meet the banking needs of women business owners and women consumers.
Past awards and honors include being named a finalist for both the ATHENA Award and as the Cincinnati Regional Chamber’s WE Celebrate Nonprofit Woman of the Year. She has also been named a Woman of Distinction by the Girl Scouts.
