Reading With Young Children

Take the first step towards discovering the importance of reading with young children beginning at birth. This online workshop is designed to provide you with knowledge of how reading to young children lays the foundation of literacy skills which lead to success in school and later life.

Available to:

All those who care for young children from birth to preschool—family child care providers, classroom teachers, directors, administrators and parents.

Using the BRIGANCE® Early Childhood Screen

This course is designed to help you understand and apply the screening tool to assist in the development of child-focused plans of action. The protocol developed by the Northern Kentucky CECC is used in this course, but the guidelines and concepts are the same regardless of your region.

Providers in Boone, Bourbon, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Harrison, Kenton, Owen, Nicholas, Pendleton and Scott counties.

Building Healthy Habits—CACFP annual training

Learn how to build a healthy child care program environment and relate those changes to children and their families. The USDA’ s Nutrition and Wellness Tips for Young Children is used throughout this course and is required reading. It is available in PDF format on the USDA website. A free print copy is also available, upon request (http://tn.ntis.gov/, document USDA256).

Participants in the 4C-sponsored Child Nutrition Program. (This course will soon be available to all early childhood professionals.)
